My name is Taher Alibalazadeh, an English teacher and exam strategist. I have studied 'British Studies' (MA) in the University of Tehran, faculty of World Studies(FWS).
I've been doing research into IELTS exam since 2011 onwards in Iranian context. I would like to share my information with my blog visitors and the exam candidates who are looking for the “truth”, because one who needs 6.5, 7, or higher in an actual test has a serious plan for it, but in most cases students' need and demand is misconstrued or better to say ‘misused by opportunists.
In 2011, I launched a website in which I strove to reach my students. The website, unfortunately, does not exist anymore.
The experience itself was greatly precious, but the feedback I received in terms technical support as well as Iranian people’s taste was not heartening at all.
My website was staunchly supported by One Sided Paper (IELTSONTRACK.com), an Australian publication and consultation Co. and I myself were emboldened sympathetically by Professor Stephen Slater, An IELTS book writer, who was always with me during all twists and turns of building and enriching my website.
When offered to cooperate with me as One Sided Paper’s sole rep in Iran to hold Mock IELTS exams, English schools in most cities did not welcome the offer. I don’t know why.
Actually, those days, I endeavored to think globally and act locally, but the situation itself is pivotal to ones glorious success or humiliating failure. I would like to say just thinking out of box is not enough, but the ground must be ready too.
I’m really happy today because of the experience I gained those days. I learned a lot of invaluable things from Mr Slater about IELTS and How to teach it.
Having searched systematically through and studied a lot about IELTS in Iranian context, I have learned that IELTS is a text which must be dethroned first.
